Proceeds raised by Hearts of Gold, Inc. go to programs benefiting our mothers and children while they are in residence at our adopted shelters and after they leave and are on their own. We provide goods and services including: warm clothing, bedding, house wares, inspirational artwork for the walls, monthly birthday parties, holiday celebrations, outings for the kids, computer skills training, art classes and summer camp scholarships. Moms and kids who excel in school are rewarded with gift certificates to Barnes and Noble. We repaved and renovated and renovated the backyard of the Alexander Abraham Residence, and David Ortega, a well-known New York artist, painted a multi-colored, wall-to-wall mural, making summer in the city more fun for our kids. We also prepare our moms for job interviews with a wardrobe, and present them with gifts on Mother’s Day and at all other celebrations.
